General Electric (GE) - Utilizing AI to predict maintenance and prevent problems

Karim Ardalan

GE’s Bengaluru-based John F Welch Technology Centre has developed an AI-driven predictive maintenance system for jet engines. The system, utilizing a ‘Digital Twin’ and image analytics, aims to reduce unscheduled engine removals by one-third. The Centre, which has been instrumental in developing engines like the LEAP and GE9X, is also pioneering 3D printing and foam wash technologies for improved engine efficiency and longevity.

"MIS taught me how to use Visual Electric and in a very short period of time I was able to generate some very specific images. It's MUCH more robust and intuitive than Midjourney."
